About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated live-in carer to provide person-centred care and support to a service user in the comfort of their own home. This role involves living with the service user, ensuring their well-being, independence, and dignity are maintained while providing emotional and physical support tailored to their specific needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personal Care: Assist with daily personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while respecting the service user’s dignity.
  • Health Monitoring: Monitor and manage any ongoing health concerns, including medication administration, dietary needs, and mobility support.
  • Household Tasks: Assist with light housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation tailored to the service user’s dietary needs and preferences.
  • Emotional Support: Offer companionship and emotional support, promoting the service user’s well-being and independence.
  • Mobility Assistance: Provide support with mobility, including using equipment like wheelchairs or hoists when necessary.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and open communication with family members, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure the service user’s needs are met.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of care provided, health updates, and any incidents or changes in the service user’s condition.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in a similar care role, ideally as a live-in carer.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of safe manual handling techniques and use of equipment.
  • Ability to prepare nutritious meals and manage household tasks.
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with specific needs, such as dementia, physical disabilities, or chronic illnesses.
